To our valued customers and friends,

The family and employees who make up Pea Ridge Forest wanted to give our loyal customers and friends a ‘heads up’ regarding the 2019 harvest season. So far, it has been an outstanding growing season for trees- although of course other farmers are suffering with the abundance of rain. It’s only July, so we do have a way to go. We have several fields of Christmas trees that are getting close to saleable size-however we have made a managerial decision (not easy for a family-operated business) to hold these fields another year until the 2020 harvest. If we use them a year early, we will be in the position we have been in for the past couple years- one that keeps us playing catch up indefinitely. The plan is that starting in 2020 we would have a sustainable number of our own trees, of course we will still have to bring in Firs.

This year we will basically bring in the majority of trees that we display in the field, standing so you can cut them or just pick them off the stand in the field. We were very impressed with our new supplier last year-the quality of the various types of trees was excellent. Besides Scotch Pine and Fraser Fir, we will bring in Canaan Fir and Concolor Fir (a wonderful choice if you are concerned with needle retention). We will of course have all the amenities available-hayrides, kiddie rides, wine sampling, kettle corn, Sugar Mama's sweets, and of course, Santa! All of these will be available on the weekends. Our gift shop filled with ornaments, gift items, fresh greenery, wreaths, arrangements, and our traditional hot chocolate is available every day!

Our website is also undergoing a major restoration, so please stay tuned for updates on that!

We will follow up with an update in the fall. If anyone has any comments, we would be happy to  hear from you! We are also in the works for designing our annual Pea Ridge Ornament. If anyone has some great ideas, please let us know!

Yours in Trees,
The Roods
